Today we play Cowdenbeath in the last game of a superb season of football, looking to sign-off for our summer hols with a win to make it 7-straight.
Before then our U18’s played their penultimate match of the season, a 4-0 win at Heriot-Watt Uni Res, goals from 16yo DC Andrew Todd, Ross MacIver & a brace from Tom Sutherland.

Our Reserves have also played their last match of the season, beating Haddington Athletic Res 5-1, goals from 19yo CM Ben Sedgwick, 17yo STC Alex Gourlay, 18yo STC Paul McCarthy, 15yo ML Bobby Lowe & 16yo DR Gary Fletcher.

Cowdenbeath arrive at Party-Central (Apparently we are expecting a gate of 1,600 or so!!!) in a run of good form, having not lost since the end of February (W5 D2 since), and we are W6 D1 for the same time period. They have got to be favourites for promotion but play-off games can play funny tricks on you.
Hopefully going to end the season with a bang today against a good Cowdenbeath side. All the old favourites playing. Cowdenbeath go with a 4-1-3-2 DM – Pretty weak in the middle of the park, but Jordan Allen up top is one to be watched.

45 seconds!! Harry Nicolson with a towering header from a Dunsmore corner!! 1-0 Berwick! Berwick in the ascendancy early on. Cowdenbeath definitely jumping into tackles a lot, needing to to stop the onslaught. It took until the 40th minute for the 2nd, a lovely back-post cross by Dunsmore finding a resurgent Balde, who headed home. He may be worth signing (He’s being released by Rangers) after the last couple of games. 2-0 at the half, more beautiful football from the Berwick Boys!!!

Cowdenbeath come out of the blocks quickly, having their first 2 shots of the match. Sutherland on for McLaughlin on the right wing after 55 minutes. 3-0 on 65 – Slaven coming deep, running with the ball and putting through a delicious ball for Dean Cornelius to tap in, the goalkeeper seemingly in a day-dream. Andy Turner on for Lewis Barr in the 67th. Slaven off to a standing ovation in the 72nd after an amazing season – McGrath on for the last 20. Allison maintains his clean-sheet record on 75, a beautiful save from Allan. And an apt way to round off an amazing season – Balde with the 4th in injury time, a lovely deep cross from that man Dunsmore again, scoring with the second bite of the Cherry after an initial Millar save. 4-0 Berwick for the 2nd game in a row. And that’s how it finished. League 1 here we come 🙂 🙂 🙂
Stranraer send Peterhead into their relegation play-off on a loss with a good 3-1 win. We end up winning the league by 22 points 🙂
