David Churchill (21, 5ft 9in) now exhibits 15 passing, and as both Kieran Balfour and Rory MacEwan have been mis-firing this season he will get a chance today.
So 3 days on from our draw away to Dalbeattie Star we take on Gretna 2008 in a game that I see as must-win. Gretna are in 13th but have a game in hand on us that, if they win means they would leapfrog us such is the state of the table at the moment.
I’m really hoping our 5-2-1-2 can start to gel as the training familiarity is pretty good.

Docherty in for Glasgow, Churchill for Balfour, Coll for Mair, Hunter as Covering Centre Back. Gretna line up with a 4-1-2-3(DM).

Gretna came out of the blocks well, but in the 4th minute a Coll corner found Lumsden unmarked, and he fired home to make it 1-0 to the Strollers. It was 2 in the 12th minute, a cross from Coll hitting Gretna defender Wadge, and it trickled into the empty net for an OG. Gretna kept on pushing though, but the Civil Service wingbacks when in possession always looked capable of an assist, Coll in particular, and in the 37th another Coll cross found Lumsden who headed home from 12 yards. 3-0. And that’s how the half finished. Lumsden (Now with 6 goals in the last 2.5 games) is absolutely all over the Gretna centre-backs. Scott Mackay is back from injury so I’m bringing him on for Cairney for the 2nd Half.

Gretna started the half looking dangerous, but usually were found offside. Mair came on for Coll and Gibb, who suffered a twist after a bad challenge came off for Burbidge. Docherty was also taken out late on but was able to see out the game (Knee Ligaments, 2 to 3 Weeks). 3-0 it finished, 3 pts, Phew! Lumsden with MotM No. 2 in 3 games won 10 headers (71% completion), with 4 of them Key.

7th, but having played a game more than most. Still we are only 4 points off top. Next up is an Away day at Stirling Uni in 8 days, and we nicked quite a few of their players in the Summer so it could be quite interesting. See you then.
